The museum, focusing on contemporary art culture, is the third largest institution of its kind in the Czech Republic. And if you look at the museum building from the outside, you will see the robber!
The museum offers long-term thematic exhibitions of modern art and short-term exhibitions of important contemporary artists from the Czech Republic and abroad. The permanent exhibition "A Century of Relativity" will present the best of a wide range of 20th century art. Here you will get acquainted with works not only by Czech artists, but also by artists from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Under one of the museum's windows hangs an original sculpture of a robber by artist David Černý, who regularly runs his hand along the ledge and even berates.
The museum is within 5 minute walking distance from the Upper square (main square). If you would be in the mood for some more exploring on your way from the museum, you can visit the Church of the Virgin Mary of the Snow, which is just across the road.
