The museum is the only one in the Czech Republic to have been awarded the prestigious European Heritage Label.
The Archdiocesan Museum stands out not only because of the uniqueness and scope of its collections telling the story of the nearly thousand-year spiritual culture of the Archdiocese of Olomouc, but also because of its rich history given by its location in the grounds of a national cultural monument. The site is associated with the murder of the Czech, Polish and Hungarian King Wenceslas III and the stay of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the permanent exhibition you can see over 300 artistic gems from the 11th to 18th centuries, including a richly decorated bishop's carriage, a treasury, original Romanesque windows and a collection of paintings.
