Prostějov region on the wave of family comfort

Introduce children to country life and the taste of honest home-made products made with love. Enjoy swimming, nature trips and summer events at the castle together!

In Prostějov, climb the town hall tower from which you can inspect the city and its surroundings. Just a few steps away from the town hall, in Kravařova Street, a world of virtual reality awaits you and your children, where you can transform yourself into a pirate ship captain, a brave Jedi knight, a professional athlete, or even a tough cowboy. Complete challenges, overcome obstacles, and save the world! Then it's time to relax in Prostějov's Koupelky Aquapark. There is a smaller swimming pool in nearby Otaslavice, and for fans of natural swimming, the bio-bathing pool in Laškov or the Plumlov Dam will come in handy.

You may like the Plumlov Dam so much that you decide to stay here for more than one day. No problem. There are several hotels and campsites to choose from. At Camping Žralok, on the shore of a Podhradský pond, you can rent canoes to take you to the opposite shore - to the Plumlov Castle. You will probably find it a bit strange, as if unfinished. And you will be correct. The former owners of the estate, the Liechtensteins, ran out of money midway and only one wing of the planned four was finished. There was nothing left to furnish the interiors, so there's no traditional castle exhibition. But you should go inside and take a look. We recommend the  "Fairy Tale Cellars" tour route with an interesting narration of local stories and myths. Especially in summer, the castle and its courtyard become alive with concerts, theatres, fencing weekends, and workshops for the whole family.

Ideally on bikes, take an hour-long trip from Plumlov to the Kopaninka lookout tower in Repechy You can even rent electric bikes directly in Plumlov, at Hotel Zlechov or Camping Žralok. It's also possible to go by bike from Prostějov to the Golden Farm, 10 km away. Even smaller children can easily handle the straight road. They will be rewarded with close contact with animals and sweet treats from local production. While the parents relax in the cozy café or on the summer terrace, the children can try feeding the goats, riding a horse, looking at the local cows, and playing on the playground.

Where to take the children for a leisurely nature walk? Our tip is the 4 km long Hloučela Nature Trail on the northern outskirts of Prostějov. About halfway along the route, take a break for a quick something from the grill or a small snack at Občerstvení U Maříků.
