Fancy Olomouc

Fancy Olomouc

Olomouc may be a smaller city but it definitely doesn't lack in soul! Here you can enjoy a low-budget city break, but also a stylish weekend with the best you could wish for!

Let's start with accommodation. If you enjoy authenticity and luxury with a touch of romance, then the HERBARIUM boutique hotel is just right for you! Live plants, delicate scents, soft music, and quality materials - all in perfect harmony for the pleasure of body and soul. Each of the six rooms represents a different plant and is therefore completely unique in design. The hotel with its blooming garden is an island of tranquillity in the heart of the historic centre of Olomouc, so you will find yourself right in the middle of all the action while enjoying maximum privacy. No vacancies left? Try the Theatre Hotel, praised by Jean Reno himself, or the Theresian Hotel in the very centre of town.

Just a few steps from the hotel, you can enjoy a great (and extremely photogenic) lunch or dinner at the Eatery & Bakery. The restaurant with its own bakery has added to the range of services of the now famous Olomouc hostel Long Story Short, which has been praised by the world's media such as the British Guardian and The New York Times. Eatery breathes a relaxed and informal atmosphere with just the right amount of elegance while maintaining the charm of family dining. The menu is rather on the concise side, but all the more dynamic. Based on the seasonality of the ingredients, the dishes change within one or two weeks. The menu is enjoyed by meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans alike! Eatery & Bakery follows the tradition of the historic building - a former military bakery - and creates its own bakery range. The smell of fresh bread and sweet treats is guaranteed to be irresistible.

If you catch a summer evening without rain, grab a drink on the terrace of the Long Story Short Café Cooking Bar after your meal. Just run up the stairs to the hostel. In summer, the place is also bustling with DJ's and people from all over the world.

Feeling guilty after the fluffy, homemade dessert from Eatery & Bakery? Don't worry! Go run off the calories at the downtown shopping gallery Šantovka. When you've got enough mileage in your legs and enough shopping bags in your hands, cross the footbridge from the 1st floor of Šantovka and head to Bar Zahrada for another drink. Beach seating, barbecue, DJ's, and of course a bar in an open-air space in the garden of a boarded-up house. Two other similar hipster spaces can be found a few metres away - on the Lower Square ( Olodvorek) and on Riegrova Street (Uncle Ferro).

At dusk, throw something fancy on and enjoy an experiential dinner at Entrée. But be careful, don't forget to book a table in advance, especially on weekends! The place is ruled over by Přemek Forejt, a renowned Czech chef and one of the judges of the MasterChef Czechia TV show. The tasting menu will make your mouth shoot up to the sky and your camera won't be able to keep up, because they are really good at plating!

Before midnight, you will definitely manage a final drink for better sleep. This can't take place anywhere else but in the epicentre of Olomouc's nightlife - Masné krámy. A passageway filled with bars - you need only choose!
