A unique collection of the world-renowned painter and illustrator Zdeněk Burian was created in the close vicinity of the Slatinice Spa near Olomouc.
You will see more than 150 original drawings, gouaches, watercolours and oils together with hundreds of books, catalogues and magazines depicting the painter's work. The permanent exhibition includes not only illustrations to world-famous authors such as Karel May, Jack London, Enrique Stanko Vráz, but also lesser-known works such as illustrations to Božena Němcová's Grandmother or stage designs for Eugen Suchona's opera Svatopluk. Burian became particularly famous for his illustrations of adventure books from the prehistoric period written by Eduard Štorch and for his palaeontological reconstructions, which he carried out with Professor Josef Augusta.
