nám. T. G. Masaryka 7/2 796 01 Prostějov, Česko Plan route
Museum and gallery in Prostějov
The museum in the Renaissance former town hall presents its collections of clocks, geology, ethnography, archeology, and Jewish history of the town.
In the museum, you can learn about the prehistoric sites of the city of Prostějov, traditional Hanak folk costumes, clocks, and watches from the 15th - 20th centuries, and also about the famous local native poet Jiří Wolker. Although Wolker died in 1924, you have a unique opportunity to sit with him and take a photo on one of the benches on T. G. Masaryk Square. We are not being creepy, it is of course his bronze statue... If you are not in a hurry, wait until the evening and go to the Prostějov Observatory for regular public viewing of the night sky.
