Discover the fascinating story of Czechoslovak furniture design in the second half of the 20th century! From 19 June to 12 October 2025, the Olomouc Museum of Art presents the exhibition Small Architecture, which presents the exceptional work of Dřevopodnik Holešov - a unique manufacturer of interior furniture made of bent wooden slats.

The architect Ludvík Volák is behind the designs, who was inspired by Scandinavian style and created timeless pieces with an emphasis on functionality and aesthetics. The woodworking company supplied furniture to embassies, hotels, EXPO pavilions and cultural institutions - today they are valuable design artefacts produced in small series.

The exhibition builds on important collections of architecture and applied art and reminds us of the difference between the work of Dřevopodnik Holešov and the better known national enterprise TON.

If you love retro design, architecture or stories of forgotten treasures from our region, don't miss this exhibition!
