Hranice from the bike saddleJoin us on a journey through Hranice, where you can find the deepest abyss in the world, and where one of the most extensive medieval castles in Central Europe dominates the surrounding nature. Hopefully, you have your bikes with you, because it would be a sin not to ride down the Bečva cycle path! It leads from Tovačov, through Hranice, to Valašské Meziříčí. On the way to Lipník nad Bečvou, you will pass the Jadran pond - a popular place for swimming in nature. From there it is only 5 km to the castle park in Veselíček, which is a great place for a family picnic. Then climb up the hill to Helfštýn Castle. Every year at the end of August, blacksmiths from all over the world come to Helfštýn to show off their skills at the international HEFAISTON show. You can visit the castle ruins and the blacksmiths' exhibitions during regular guided tours. From the glass roof of the castle's torso, there is a unique view not only of the castle itself but also of the surrounding area. You can also walk around Helfštýn on your own, without a guide. Next to the castle, you can have fun and adventure in the rope maze. The biggest challenge is the giant swing, the so-called Big Swing. Do you dare to jump from a height of 10 m? Conquer the obstacles together with your children in the low rope park, the high rope maze, or on the adventure course at heights of up to 8 m. You don't have to go all the way to the Netherlands to see the windmills, just drive 10 km north of Hranice - to Partutovice. You can go inside the best preserved wooden windmill in the Czech Republic by appointment at +420 581 625 293. |
